You don’t know me yet, but I’m out there somewhere. You do talk to me though. You give me the signs. The signs that you want me. I know I’ll be loved unconditionally by you and that really is one of the best feelings in the world. To be loved.
I too am dying to call you by those words you so yearn to hear. I’ve waited my whole life, on this side, for it.
But everything does have a right time and a right place. There may not be a perfect lover. A perfect partner. Or a perfect person. But there is a right time and place.
I’m going to come home to you. But not just yet. It’s why you’ve had to wait for so long.
While you watch the Facebook newsfeed pages fill up with loving Mother’s Day messages dedicated to all your friends, I watch from this side as a single tear slips down your pretty face. You are not any less of a mom. You’ve always wanted a child. And you’re just waiting for one. This is just a preparation phase, if we can call it that. Some people get one faster. Some later. You’ll have yours too!
I’m right here. If only you could see. And I’ll come home soon, I promise.
Until then, I love you dear Mom. And Happy Mother’s Day. Just because I haven’t shown up yet, it doesn’t make you any less of a Mom...
