If you've ever received a warm and welcoming message in the SHEROES chat, chances are it was from Ritika Damani. Ritika has been a MARS Partner since 2018, she was the part of SHEROES chat support when we had just launched. And today she works on the LXL Ideas project, helping teachers and school staff navigate their products.
My third conversation with Ritika felt just as energizing as the first. Her passion for connecting with people was contagious. Born and raised in Kolkata, Ritika had always dreamt of financial independence. Her journey started early, as she gave tuition to school kids right after finishing her 10th grade. While pursuing a Bachelor's in Commerce, she took on the role of a Montessori teacher, a job she cherished.
In 2009, she graduated and set her sights on becoming a Chartered Accountant. But two years into her studies, Ritika realized that path wasn't for her. She pivoted, landing her first job at Manyavar, where she worked for nearly seven years.
Then life took a wonderful turn. Ritika found her partner, got married, and moved to a new city — but she didn't stop working. Even when a medical condition forced her to quit her job temporarily, Ritika, ever resilient, used her time to explore new opportunities. That's when she stumbled upon SHEROES and joined MARS in March 2018 as a chat support executive for Paytm.
Ritika's journey with MARS was full of growth and new experiences. After a brief break when life got busier with a newborn, she rejoined SHEROES as a chat support executive, working on various projects. Her favorite by far? LXL Ideas. This is a hybrid role which requires her to visit schools on some days and on other days she can work from the comfort of her home. In this role, Ritika got the chance to work closely with teachers, principals, and school staff, helping them navigate and use LXL products. It is a project close to her heart, as it merged her love for education with her expertise in engaging conversations.
Reflecting on her journey with MARS, Ritika shares,
"No matter how much we say that your company isn’t your family, MARS feels different. It really does feel like a family. Throughout my journey, Pallavy Borah has been a pillar of support, always there to guide us and make sure we were never alone."
Today, Ritika continues to thrive, finding a career that perfectly balances her life as a mother and a professional. Her story is a testament to the flexibility of working remotely and support that MARS offers.
